*This is an impressive FDC from a very active Naval Destroyer. During WWII the Hobson was present at D-Day as part of the UTAH beach bombardment force. She was also present at the bombardment of Cherbourg.Transferred to the Pacific fleet, she was present at Okinawa where she suffered a bomb hit from a Kamikaze attack. Repaired and still in service she was struck by the Aircraft Carrier Wasp (CV-18) in the North Atlantic with a heavy loss of life as the Hobson was cut in two by the carrier and sank in less than 5 minutes.
